That is why we focus on not only getting to know you, provide conversational recorded video project updates, and connect through video calls (in in person if your local). Because we humans need to stick together!
 

It's Nice To Meet You!

I’ve had a front-row seat to the ever-changing digital hurdles businesses face since 2016. I have filled a lot of roles in my time, such as Graphics Designer, Web Developer, Project Manager, and Sales Engineer across over 150 websites. Allowing me to learn the process from the first line of code to years of ongoing support and partnerships. As an entrepreneur myself, working alongside business owners turned a professional interest into a genuine passion! 

Over the last decade, I have seen many different ways to approach projects, but I have never been fully satisfied. So I launched SQUIRE to do things differently!

Outside of work, I am a member of a creative writing group where we tackle interesting writing prompts, share our works, and earn fun titles that we wear like badges of honor. 

Somewhat recently, I have gotten into 3D printing! I have really enjoyed the marriage between technical setups and artistic creation of models to bring ideas into the real world. 

In my free time, I love spending time with my wife and daughter, playing video games, watching movies, testing new cooking recipes, and studying philosophy!

Frequently Asked Questions

The typical website build has three payment stages:

  1. 50% of the website build cost is due before we start the build. 

  2. 50% of the website build cost is due after the build and before we launch. 

  3. Once we launch, the first month of your adventure plan is invoiced at the beginning of the next month. 

SEO is a large topic that is always changing based on search engine updates. With that said, we do include quite a few SEO deliverables in our builds. If you are looking for something more, we can connect and add them as deliverables to your build. We are also planning on adding varying levels of power-ups for even further customization. We are also experimenting with the new emerging field of AEO, which focuses on AI website optimization, and will be available via power-ups as well! 

Here is what we include by default: 

  1. We build websites following best practises, which is simply a big aspect of what search engines look at while ranking your website. 
  2. We build for both PC and Mobile to make sure the website is fully responsive and restacks its displays correctly. 
  3. All images that we add to the website will have Alt tags added to them. 
  4. We ensure there are no broken links at launch. 
  5. During the build, we keep an eye on accessibility.
  6. Before launch, we check page load speeds and implement methods to help improve them if needed. 
  7. We pair Elementor Pro with its recommended WordPress Theme (Hello Elementor). Which introduces more efficiencies. 
  8. We make sure our websites launch with CDNs and SSLs ready to go, which are simple standards that are also looked at by search engines. 
  9. After launch, we ensure there are regular updates made in all of our adventure plans, which helps the website stay healthy long-term. Were as if this was skipped, it would eventually start chipping away at your SEO rankings. 
  10. We ensure that both the server and the website are enabled for search engine indexing.

The amount of dev time you have access to varies depending on which tier of adventure plan you are using! This resource is as simple as it sounds: you have access to X amount of time each month. All you need to do is email us with your tasks, and we will tackle them and subtract from your monthly dev time. 

Note: To help ensure consistent availability for all clients, hours are allocated per month and do not roll over. Also, if needed, access to additional time is available upon request.

Included in our Warden adventure plans and up is “Domain acquisition and management”. This means if you do not already have a domain (www.YourWebsiteDomain.com), we will provide you with some available options and acquire the domain that you select.

With that being said, we do put a limit of $30 on these new domain acquisitions, which will cover most domain options. If there is a premium domain that you would like that goes over the $30 included budget, then we can just talk about a small added cost to cover the additional funds needed. 

At SQUIRE, we purchase and manage domains through GoDaddy’s platform and do need any existing domains for websites we build transferred to our account so that we can properly set up our CDN. 

If you get a new idea that you would like to add to the build, just let us know, and we can talk things over! The two main factors are when this new idea is added and how much time is needed to create this new idea. 

If we are still building the website, this new idea will likely be outside of the project scope, but we can see how we are doing on time, or explore options to expand the quote if needed! 

If your new website is already live, shoot us an email, and we can take a look! We might be able to add this new idea within your monthly dev time. 

This is a tricky topic!

We will never lock you out of the website if this is something that is important to you. But with that being said, as partners that genuinely care about your success, we highly recommend leaving the edits to us. With nearly a decade of experience, I have worked with many clients who wanted backend access and ended up accidentally introducing errors into the build, in some cases, crashing the whole website. There have only been two instances that I can recall where customers making their own edits worked out well. 

If the website crashes due to something added, edited, imported, or removed by a non-SQUIRE staff member, then monthly dev time will be used to make the necessary repairs. 

With that being said, if this is important to you, we can talk through some options and find a solution! It is possible for us to create accounts and “rope off” some areas of the website to help add guide rails in hopes of avoiding issues down the road.

While we do not recommend this option, it is something that we can do. Each situation is a bit different and will result in a higher build cost. This is due to a few reasons, such as to help make builds more affordable, some of the adventure plan funds are designed to cover a portion of the build cost over time, which wouldn’t take place if you do not sign up for an adventure plan. There are also new complications we would need to consider when it relates to things like software licenses, server PHP versions, server bandwidth availability, where we build the project, how we migrate the project, and other similar tasks to consider.
